A driver fled the scene of a car accident, leaving behind a passenger who was injured. The incident occurred on Monday, January 8, near Flanders Street and Twin Lakes Road in Cass County.

Upon arrival, deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office discovered an injured passenger, identified as a 63-year-old resident of Dowagiac. The driver had already departed the scene.
According to the investigation conducted by the sheriff’s office, the vehicle had turned east off of Twin Lakes Road and appeared to have lost control due to excessive speed. As a result, the passenger fell from the vehicle before it collided with a tree.
Emergency services were called, and the injured passenger was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for medical treatment.
