Bengaluru CEO Arrested for Allegedly Killing Her Son

Bengaluru: A 39-year-old woman, identified as Suchana Seth, who is the CEO of a Bengaluru-based startup company, was arrested in Chitradurga, Karnataka on January 8 for the alleged murder of her four-year-old son. The shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the community and raised questions about the motive behind the heinous act.

Strained Relationship and Custody Battle

According to the police, Seth’s strained relationship with her husband, who was also fighting for custody of their child, could have been a possible motive for the crime. The investigation suggests that the boy was smothered and potentially harmed with a sharp object. Superintendent of Police Nidhin Valsan stated that the motive behind the murder is yet to be determined, and further investigations will be conducted after the post-mortem examination.

The father, who is currently in Indonesia, has been contacted and requested to visit the Calangute police station to provide any relevant information that might aid the investigation. Seth was apprehended by the Aimangala police station in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district and subsequently transferred to Goa police custody.

Hotel Stay and Mysterious Disappearance

Police reports indicate that Seth had checked into a rented service apartment in North Goa’s Candolim on January 6, accompanied by her son. After a couple of days, she informed the apartment staff that she needed to go to Bengaluru for work and requested them to arrange a taxi.

Although the staff suggested taking a flight as a more affordable option, Seth insisted on hiring a taxi. On January 8, she left for Bengaluru early in the morning in the arranged vehicle, but something sinister had already transpired.

Bloodstains Uncovered During Room Cleaning

During the routine cleaning of Seth’s room, the apartment staff discovered bloodstains on a sheet, which immediately raised their concerns. The management promptly informed the Calangute Police about the disturbing finding. Further investigation by the police revealed that Seth had allegedly killed her son using a sharp weapon before leaving the apartment.

Misleading Information and Suspicion

When questioned about the bloodstains and her son’s whereabouts, Seth provided misleading information. She claimed that the bloodstains were due to her monthly periods and stated that her son was with a friend in Margao, South Goa, providing an address. However, upon investigation, it was found that the address provided by Seth was fake.

The unusual heaviness of Seth’s bag and the suspicious circumstances raised more doubts in the minds of the authorities. The police contacted the taxi driver who transported Seth to Bengaluru and instructed him to report to the nearest police station. With the assistance of the Karnataka Police, Seth was apprehended in Chitradurga district, Karnataka, while en route to Bengaluru. To their horror, the police discovered the lifeless body of her son upon inspecting her bag.

Legal Proceedings and Justice

A team from Calangute Police immediately traveled to Chitradurga, obtained a transit remand for the accused, and began the process of bringing her back to Goa. Seth was subsequently presented in front of the Mapusa court. The legal proceedings will proceed as the investigation further unfolds, and the case will be closely monitored to ensure justice is served for the innocent child.
