The accused woman, identified as Suchana Seth, was apprehended on Monday from Chitradurga district in Karnataka while she was en route to Bengaluru in a cab. She has been remanded to six days of police custody.

According to Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Nidhin Valsan, the motive behind the crime is yet to be determined as the case is still in the early stages of investigation. Seth, a 39-year-old native of West Bengal, had settled in Bengaluru and was married to a Keralite. Her husband is currently in Indonesia, and he has been informed about the incident.

During the press conference, Valsan revealed that Seth informed the police that they were going through divorce proceedings. However, this information needs to be verified. The accused woman and her son had checked into a service apartment in Candolim, north Goa, on Sunday morning. She left for Bengaluru on Monday morning after committing the crime in the apartment.

The incident came to light when the housekeeping staff went to clean the apartment on Monday and noticed bloodstains. The police were immediately informed, and they tried to contact the cab driver who had been hired by the hotel on Seth’s request to take her to Bengaluru. When asked about her son, she claimed that he was in Margao, South Goa, at a friend’s house and would stay there for a few days. However, the address provided turned out to be fake, leading the police to instruct the cab driver to take her to the nearest police station, where she was apprehended.

The police discovered the body of Seth’s son in her luggage during a check in Karnataka. Despite being advised that a flight would be cheaper than a cab, Seth insisted on taking a cab. The police suspect that the motive behind the murder is related to her estranged relationship with her husband.

The CEO’s arrest and the shocking murder of her young child have sent shockwaves through the community.
