“Arrest Made in Search for Wanted Murder Suspect Derquavious Kier in Milledgeville, Georgia”

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Local authorities in Milledgeville have recently made significant progress in their search for a wanted murder suspect. The suspect, 18-year-old Derquavious Kier, had been on the run for almost a month before being apprehended by officers and detectives. Kier was found hiding underneath a pile of clothes in a bedroom apartment, thanks to the efforts of the Special Response Team (SRT) and a deputy with the U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Kier is a suspect in the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Desmond Rivers on November 24. The incident, described by Police Chief Dray Swicord as a rival gang shootout, occurred on the 2300 block of Anthony Way in the Duplex City neighborhood. The charges against Kier include felony murder, four counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

During the arrest of Kier, three women were also taken into custody. Milledgeville Police Department Maj. Linc Boyer, commander of the road patrol division, identified the women as Zykia Shineice Hooks, MyKia Niaasia Whipple, and Shymecia D’asia Lewis. Hooks resides on Crystal Ridge Drive NW, Whipple on Browns Crossing Road, and Lewis on East McIntosh Street, all within Milledgeville. These women have been charged with felony hindering apprehension or harboring a fugitive.

In addition to these arrests, several other local residents have also been charged with hindering apprehension or harboring a fugitive. Among them are Javier Keandre Williams from Cranford Drive, Daisy Shantrell Marion Hughes from Dixie Street in Gray, Trinity Maria Martin from Oconee Street, and Aamyia Zykeria Glenn from Old Stage Road, all in Milledgeville. These individuals were all taken to the Baldwin County Law Enforcement Center and detained.

Furthermore, one more woman, Ariell Williams, was arrested on unrelated charges. Williams is the mother of Javier Keandre Williams and was taken into custody last Tuesday afternoon.

Deputy Lt. Chris Spires from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with Jones County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Barron Hall to ensure the apprehension of Daisy Shantrell Marion Hughes, who had an outstanding warrant in Baldwin County related to the hindering apprehension of Derquavious Kier.
