Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh – In a tragic incident, a 50-year-old man from Uttarakhand lost his life while his wife and son sustained injuries when their car veered off the road and fell into a ditch due to dense fog in Jasmour village. The accident occurred on Monday evening as the family was returning home from their visit to the revered Maa Shakambhari Devi temple.

The Superintendent of Police (Rural), Sagar Jain, informed PTI that the accident took place when the man swerved to avoid colliding with a motorcyclist. Despite his efforts to avert a collision, the car tragically ended up in the ditch.

Immediately after the incident, the injured family members were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical assistance. Sadly, the doctors declared the man, identified as Mahendra, dead upon arrival. Meanwhile, his wife, Manju (45), and son, Prashant (25), have been admitted to the hospital for treatment and are currently in stable condition.

It has been reported that the family members of the deceased have refused permission for conducting a postmortem examination on Mahendra’s body, as confirmed by Superintendent Jain.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of cautious driving, particularly during adverse weather conditions such as dense fog.
