Tragic Accident Near Madipur Metro Station Claims Lives of Mother and Son

New Delhi, Jan 9 (PTI) – A heartbreaking incident occurred near Madipur Metro Station, resulting in the untimely demise of a 32-year-old woman, Seema, and her two-year-old son, Daksh. The accident took place when a motorcycle, ridden by Prashant Srivastava (32), collided with them, leaving Srivastava injured as well.

A senior police officer stated, “A PCR call was received at 6.45 pm on Monday, alerting us about a fatal accident near the Madipur metro station. Our team reached the spot promptly to investigate the matter.”

Upon reaching the accident site, the police discovered a motorcycle and were subsequently informed about three medicolegal cases by Maharaja Agrasen hospital. Unfortunately, Seema and Daksh were declared brought dead, while Srivastava received medical attention for his injuries.

An officer involved in the investigation shared, “According to our findings, a speeding motorcycle first collided with Srivastava’s bike and then struck Seema and her son, who were crossing the road at the time.”

The police have successfully identified the offending vehicle and its owner. An FIR has been registered against the owner under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 337 (causing hurt by an act endangering the life or personal safety of others), and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

Seema’s devastated family members expressed their grief, as they prepare to transport the bodies to Madhya Pradesh for the final rites. “This accident has shattered our world,” one of the family members shared with a heavy heart.

Providing his account of the incident, Srivastava informed the police that the speeding two-wheeler first collided with his motorcycle before tragically crashing into Seema and her son. He stated, “I was heading home from Patel Nagar when, near Madipur Metro Station, a speeding bike approached from behind and collided with my bike, causing me to fall onto the road. Subsequently, the bike hit the woman…”

Srivastava further mentioned that passersby who witnessed the accident promptly arranged for an auto-rickshaw to rush Seema and Daksh to the hospital.

This devastating accident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving. Authorities are actively investigating the incident to ensure justice is served for the victims and their grieving family.
