One Person Injured in Shooting Incident in San Diego’s Mountain View Neighborhood

SAN DIEGO — A shooting incident took place on Monday night in San Diego’s Mountain View neighborhood, resulting in one person being injured, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).

The incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of Messina Drive. The victim, a 23-year-old man, was sitting in a BMW with a friend when a red sedan pulled up next to them, SDPD officials stated.

For unknown reasons, an argument broke out between the individuals in the two vehicles. As a result, one of the passengers in the sedan fired five shots at the BMW.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, his injuries are considered non-life threatening, with wounds on his left leg, hand, and nose resulting from the gunfire. The passenger in the BMW escaped unharmed.

The SDPD is currently conducting an investigation into the shooting. No further details about the suspect(s) involved in the incident have been disclosed at this time.
