In a tragic incident that occurred in Suranagi Village, Gadag district of Karnataka, three die-hard fans of popular actor Rocking Star Yash were electrocuted while putting up a 25-foot banner to celebrate the actor’s birthday. The incident took place during the early hours of Monday, 8th January.

According to local reports, a group of young men from Suranagi village had gathered around midnight to celebrate their favorite actor’s birthday. Eight of them were involved in putting up the 25-foot cutout when it accidentally came in contact with a live wire. The entire incident was captured on video and has since been circulating on social media.

As soon as the banner touched the live wire, three individuals were electrocuted and fell unconscious. They were immediately rushed to a local hospital but were declared brought dead. Four others also suffered severe injuries due to the electric shock and are currently receiving medical treatment.

The three fans who lost their lives have been identified as Hanumantha Harijan (21), Murali (20), and Naveen Gaji (19). They were known for their immense love and admiration for Rocking Star Yash. Every year, they would celebrate the actor’s birthday and also the release of his new movies.

An investigation into the incident has been initiated, and the Lakshmishwara police have registered a case to determine the circumstances that led to the electrocution.

Unsafe Metal Frame

One of the key factors contributing to the tragic incident was the metal frame used for the 25-foot banner. When the live wire from an adjacent electric pole came in contact with the metal frame, the three youths suffered electrocution.

Dr Chandru Lamani, the Shirahatti MLA, expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and described the incident as unfortunate. He mentioned that the young men involved in the accident were from economically disadvantaged backgrounds but were ardent fans of Yash. They regularly celebrated the actor’s success and held him in high regard.

Following the incident, fans of Yash from across the state and around the world expressed their deep condolences on social media platforms. They also urged everyone to exercise caution and prioritize safety during such celebrations.

Rocking Star Yash is yet to release a statement regarding the tragic mishap.

Yash’s Whereabouts

Similar to the previous year, Yash had informed his fans that he would not be present in Bengaluru on his birthday, 8th January. He is currently traveling to scout locations for his upcoming film titled “Toxic,” directed by Geethu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions. The film’s title was recently unveiled by the actor and the production house.

The shooting for “Toxic” is scheduled to take place in various parts of Malaysia, Singapore, and London. Although there have been rumors about the inclusion of Sai Pallavi and Kareena Kapoor in the film, the details are yet to be confirmed by the production team.

Previous Tragic Incidents

This unfortunate incident involving Yash’s fans is not the first of its kind. In July 2023, two fans of Tamil actor Suriya lost their lives while putting up a banner to celebrate his birthday. The flexi’s iron rod came into contact with an electric wire, leading to the tragic electrocution. Suriya extended his support to the grieving families and assured them of his assistance.

In September 2020, three fans of Telugu star Pawan Kalyan also lost their lives due to electrocution while erecting a banner for the actor’s birthday. Pawan Kalyan expressed his deep sorrow and shock over the incident.

Rajinikanth’s Cautionary Message

During an interaction with his fans, legendary actor Rajinikanth shared a personal reason for avoiding celebrations at his home on his birthdays. He revealed that several years ago, three of his fans tragically lost their lives in a car accident while returning from celebrating his birthday. This incident deeply impacted him and made him cautious about fans’ safety during birthday celebrations.
