Three Men Electrocuted to Death while Installing Birthday Banner for Actor Yash

In a tragic incident in Suranagi village, Gadag district, Karnataka, three men lost their lives while installing a banner to celebrate the birthday of popular Kannada film actor Yash. The accident occurred around 1 am on Monday, resulting in the electrocution of Hanumanth Harijan (24), Murali Naduvinamani (20), and Naveen Gaaji (20).

The incident took place when the victims came into contact with a high-tension wire while setting up the banner. Three others also suffered injuries and were immediately rushed to the district hospital for medical treatment.

Gadag Superintendent of Police, Babasaheb Nemagouda, confirmed the incident and stated, “While putting up the banner, three of them were electrocuted and three others sustained injuries. The banner had a metal frame that came in contact with a HESCOM wire. A case has been registered at Lakshmeshwar Police Station, and a thorough investigation will be conducted.”

Shirhatti MLA Chandru Lamani, who visited the accident site, urged the public to refrain from installing metallic frame banners. He also appealed to Yash, the popular Kannada actor, to visit the families of the deceased individuals, as reported by the Indian Express.

Yash, whose real name is Naveen Kumar Gowda, turned 38 on January 8. The actor, known for his remarkable performances in the KGF franchise, has a tradition of celebrating his birthday with his fans. However, this year, he conveyed through a letter to his fans that he would be unable to celebrate with them as he was scheduled to travel abroad for the shooting of his upcoming movie, ‘Toxic’.

The untimely deaths of the three men have cast a shadow of grief over the birthday celebrations of the beloved actor. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety measures while engaging in festive preparations.
