Six killed and Ten Injured in Tragic Road Accident near Chechiyan Interchange

HARIPUR, United Kingdom – A horrifying road accident on Sunday near the Chechiyan Interchange on the Hazara Motorway has claimed the lives of six individuals and left ten others critically injured. The incident occurred when a passenger bus collided with a van, resulting in a devastating impact.

According to reports from the local police, the accident was caused by the improper parking of an asphalt-laying machine by a construction company operating on the motorway. Eyewitnesses stated that a van, en route from Abbottabad to Rawalpindi, crashed into the stationary vehicle, only to be further struck by a Lahore-bound passenger bus coming from Mansehra.

Tragically, six passengers lost their lives on the spot, while ten others sustained severe injuries. The injured victims were rushed to nearby medical facilities for immediate treatment. The deceased have been identified as Sultan, Faisal, Shakil, Abdul Qayum, Zahoor Gul, and Shehla Bibi.

The rescue operation was carried out by dedicated and swift response teams, who had to cut through the metal wreckage of the Rawalpindi-bound van to retrieve the bodies and assist the injured.

Among the injured passengers, Ali Raza, Abdullah, Hasnain, Abdul Rehman, Mohammad Imdad, Arifa Bibi, Samiullah, Usman, Luqman, and Alam Khan were identified. They are currently receiving medical attention to address their critical conditions.

Furthermore, in a separate incident, a pedestrian identified as Anwar lost his life when he was struck by a speeding car near the Siddiq-i-Akbar Chowk in Haripur.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the tragic accident and are holding the construction company accountable for their negligence in parking the asphalt-laying machine. Such incidents serve as a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to proper safety measures on the road, ensuring the well-being of all commuters.
