PERRY, Iowa — The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations has recently disclosed the identity of the victim who tragically lost their life in the Perry High School shooting that took place on Thursday. The incident, which unfolded at approximately 7:30 a.m., prompted an immediate response from law enforcement agencies across the metropolitan area. Upon arrival, first responders encountered several individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, 11-year-old Ahmir Jolliff, a 6th-grade student, succumbed to his injuries.

Among the victims of this tragic incident was School Principal Dan Marburger, who displayed immense bravery by shielding students from harm and was critically injured in the process. However, there is a glimmer of hope as Marburger’s daughter confirmed that he is currently on the path to recovery.

The latest update from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations reveals that the total number of individuals injured in the shooting has risen to seven. Currently, two students and Principal Marburger are still receiving hospital treatment to aid their recovery.

The investigative team has diligently collected a substantial amount of digital and social media evidence. In addition, they are actively conducting interviews with eyewitnesses and victims to gather as much information as possible. Once the investigation concludes, all findings will be handed over to the Dallas County Attorney’s Office to determine if any further action is necessary.
