Accident – Death – Obituary News : Mother Arrested in Connection with Death of 4-Year-Old Child in Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Police Department announced on Monday that a mother has been taken into custody in relation to the death of her 4-year-old child, which occurred back in November. According to a press release from the department, the Crimes Against Children Unit received a report of a deceased child on November 30, 2022. The child was transported to a local hospital by the mother and her boyfriend after they found the child unresponsive.

In March of 2023, an autopsy was conducted by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office, and the results determined that the child’s death was a homicide. This revelation prompted the department to launch a thorough investigation, which involved the preparation of search warrants, a review of medical records, and interviews with relevant individuals.

As a result of their investigation, the Colorado Springs Police Department obtained a warrant for the arrest of the child’s mother, identified as 25-year-old Raven Rudd of Colorado Springs. Rudd now faces charges of child abuse that recklessly resulted in death, a Class 2 felony. Authorities took her into custody without incident.

The Colorado Springs PD is urging anyone with additional information regarding this tragic incident to contact the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (719) 634-STOP (7867) or 1-800-222-8477. Providing any relevant information can aid in the ongoing investigation.
