Identification of Victim
The individual who tragically lost his life in an officer-involved shooting at the Circle K convenience store in Lompoc on December 29, 2023, has been identified as 20-year-old Connor Amador, a resident of Lompoc.

According to information provided by the Lompoc Police Department, on December 28, 11:30 p.m., officers from the LPD responded to a reported armed robbery at the Circle K store located at 1421 E. Ocean Ave. During the incident, an armed male suspect entered the store, threatening the clerk and stealing both money and alcohol before fleeing the premises. Despite a thorough search conducted by LPD officers, the suspect managed to evade capture.
Attempted Carjacking
On December 29, approximately 1:18 a.m., LPD officers received another distress call regarding an armed male individual near the gas pumps at Circle K. The suspect had attempted to carjack a victim in the parking lot. However, the victim managed to escape the dangerous situation by fleeing on foot.
Fatal Shooting Incident
Following the unsuccessful carjacking attempt, the suspect re-entered the Circle K store and once again targeted the establishment for robbery. Shortly after leaving the store, the armed suspect was confronted by LPD officers. Unfortunately, during the confrontation, a fatal shooting occurred.
Efforts to Save the Suspect
LPD officers promptly provided immediate medical assistance to the suspect until medical professionals arrived at the scene. Tragically, despite their best efforts, the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
