According to a South Australian Police spokesperson, the crash was reported by a neighbor who lived near the accident site and by an Apple alert. The spokesperson revealed that certain Apple devices, including iPhones and Apple Watches, have a built-in “Crash Detection” feature. This feature automatically initiates an emergency call in the event of a severe collision involving vehicles such as sedans, SUVs, and other passenger cars. The device emits an audible alarm and displays an alert to notify the user of the collision.
