A deadly family feud over land inheritance took a tragic turn when it escalated into a brutal shooting in front of a house in Nonthaburi, Thailand. This shocking incident resulted in the loss of two lives. Local authorities were alerted to the violent scene in the Ban Mai district of Bang Yai at 9.30am on January 8.

The Alleged Perpetrator and the Immediate Aftermath

The alleged perpetrator of this heinous crime is Pissit, a 41-year-old nephew of the victims. Immediately after the shooting, Pissit fled the scene, leaving chaos in his wake.

The Lead-Up to the Crime

Prior to the crime, around 8am, Phayup and Phayaow had left their house to attend to their paddy field situated in front of the house where the incident unfolded. Interestingly, this property belongs to Prayun, the elder brother of the victims and the father of the accused, Pissit.

At the time of the shooting, Pissit’s mother, Lard, was cooking at the back of the house. She heard a heated argument followed by the sound of gunshots. Rushing out, she discovered the lifeless bodies of her brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Pissit, in a shocking display, entered the house and admitted to the crime before fleeing from the scene.

A Decade-Long Dispute

The root cause of this tragic incident can be traced back to a decade-long dispute over land inheritance. The conflict reached its peak with a court case, which ultimately resulted in Phayup’s legal victory and Pissit being ordered to vacate the property. The legal defeat seemed to have taken a toll on Pissit, leading to increased stress and ultimately culminating in the gruesome events of that fateful morning.

The Suspect on the Run

After gunning down his uncle and aunt, Pissit managed to flee the scene with the murder weapon, as reported by KhaoSod. However, the suspect later contacted the authorities and expressed his willingness to surrender. The police will now interrogate Pissit and proceed with the legal case against him.
