FRANKFORD, Del. – State Police have apprehended a 47-year-old woman, Casey Whitman, of Frankford, for her fifth DUI offense, along with additional drug charges. The arrest took place on Saturday evening, according to Delaware State Police.

The incident occurred on January 6, around 10:38 p.m., when a vigilant trooper on patrol noticed a truck with a fictitious license plate traveling on Gum Tree Road, in the vicinity of Dupont Boulevard. The trooper swiftly initiated a traffic stop and approached the driver, identified as Casey Whitman, accompanied by a 55-year-old woman found hiding under a blanket in the backseat.

While interacting with Whitman, troopers noticed her attempting to conceal items from her purse in her jacket pocket, as well as displaying signs of impairment. Simultaneously, the troopers discovered that the 55-year-old woman had active warrants issued by the Selbyville Police Department. Both individuals were apprehended without any resistance.

During a subsequent search of Whitman’s person and the truck, law enforcement officers uncovered approximately 2.54 grams of suspected cocaine, 65 bags of suspected heroin, and various drug paraphernalia, as reported by State Police.
