An urgent appeal has been launched by the British Transport Police (BTP) to locate the family of a pensioner who tragically lost his life on the London Tube tracks. The incident occurred on Boxing Day, just before 3.30pm, at the Stratford underground station.

After receiving reports of a casualty on the tracks, BTP officers swiftly responded to the distress call. Sadly, the 72-year-old man, identified as Brian Mitchell, originally from Edinburgh, was pronounced dead.

Despite exhaustive efforts to locate Mr. Mitchell’s next of kin or any other family members, the BTP has encountered difficulties. They are now appealing to the public for assistance in their investigation.

Authorities have revealed that Mr. Mitchell was believed to be residing in the Hanwell area of Ealing, located in west London.

If you have any information that could aid the investigation or help identify Mr. Mitchell’s family, please contact the British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40. Kindly quote the reference number 137 of 26/12/23 when providing information.
