11-Year-Old Student Ahmir Jolliff Fatally Shot at Perry High School

The Iowa Department of Public Safety has revealed that Ahmir Jolliff, a 6th-grade student, tragically lost his life due to multiple gunshot wounds during a devastating incident that occurred at Perry High School on January 4th. The assailant, identified as fellow student Dylan Butler, opened fire, claiming Ahmir’s life before taking his own. Perry High School Principal, Dan Marburger, is among the injured.

Following the incident, the Iowa Department of Public Safety stated, “Ahmir’s cause of death has been determined to be multiple gunshot wounds, with a total of three, and his manner of death has been ruled a homicide.”

Ahmir Jolliff, affectionately known as “Smiley” at home, was eagerly looking forward to returning to school after the holiday break. He was a talented tuba player and a passionate soccer enthusiast.
