Tragic Accident Claims Life of Marilyn Jones in Bridgeport
A fatal accident occurred in Bridgeport on Monday, January 5, claiming the life of 79-year-old Marilyn Jones. The incident took place at approximately 8 a.m. when Jones was walking westbound on Washington Avenue. She was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Coleman Street.
Bridgeport Hospital received Jones in critical condition, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival, according to Captain Lonnie Blackwell of the Bridgeport Police Department.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the authorities, Capt. Blackwell stated.
Marilyn Jones was a beloved resident of Bridgeport, leaving behind grieving family and friends. The Bridgeport Police Department’s Traffic Officer A. Orum is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. Offering his condolences, Capt. Blackwell expressed heartfelt sympathy to the victim’s family and friends.
