Dead Body Discovered in Garbage Can in Minneapolis

Introduction

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) – The death of a man found stuffed in a garbage can in Minneapolis has been ruled a homicide, according to a medical examiner’s report released on Monday.

The Victim and Cause of Death

The victim, identified as 51-year-old Reid Johnson, was determined to have died from multiple gunshot wounds, as stated in the report. Johnson’s lifeless body was discovered at a residence on 30th Avenue North, near North Lyndale Avenue and in close proximity to a local church.

The Discovery

On Sunday afternoon, Johnson’s body was found in a detached garage by a realtor who had arrived for an open house. The previous day, the realtor had alerted the police after noticing an unfamiliar vehicle in the garage.

Upon returning the following day, the realtor and the homeowner were startled to find the car missing, but another item left behind. When they attempted to move the object, they were horrified to uncover the deceased body of Reid Johnson.

Community Shock

Expressing his disbelief, the homeowner lamented on Sunday, “It’s just a horrible thing to have happened to anybody. To die and be put in a garbage can. It’s unbelievable. It’s hard to think about.”

Ongoing Investigation

At present, the property where the crime occurred is vacant and listed for sale. The police have classified the death as suspicious and are actively investigating the case to determine the motive and identify any potential suspects.
