According to a report by Times of India, Kumar, a resident of Singhawali Ahir in Baghpat, had gone missing after a criminal case was registered against him and his brothers in 2018. The case was filed by a villager named Ved Prakash following a brawl. Kumar’s family had suspected foul play and demanded a police investigation into his disappearance.

After months of investigation, the police couldn’t find any solid evidence to prove Kumar’s death. In April 2023, a court order led to the registration of an FIR against Prakash and two others under IPC sections 364 (kidnapping) and 302 (murder). However, the investigation yielded no results.

Recently, Baghpat police traced Kumar’s whereabouts to Delhi when he appeared in court to secure pending bail. The SHO of Singhawali Ahir stated that Kumar had been working as a taxi driver, maintaining his identity and even marrying another woman with whom he had four children.

During questioning, Kumar revealed his long-standing rivalry with Prakash and his involvement in an extra-marital affair with a woman in Delhi’s Rohini area. He explained that in 2018, he left home and started living with the woman, while his family in Uttar Pradesh believed he had been kidnapped and killed.
