Two Men Arrested in Ocala After Fatal Drug Deal

OCALA, Fla. – Law enforcement officials in Ocala have apprehended two individuals following a drug deal gone wrong, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old man. The Ocala Police Department announced the arrests of Kamrun Goffe, 23, and Jaden Burton, 20, who now face premeditated first-degree murder charges. Goffe also faces additional charges of engaging in a criminal offense with a firearm and possession of over 20 grams of marijuana.

The incident occurred on Saturday, prompting a swift response from law enforcement officers. Responding to a shooting call in the 2200 block of SW 2nd St. around 11:20 a.m., police discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Patrick Stanley Jr., was promptly transported to the hospital; however, he succumbed to his injuries later that evening.

Detectives pieced together the events leading up to the shooting through video footage, witness accounts, and other evidence collected at the scene. Their investigation revealed that two individuals, each driving separate vehicles – a blue Toyota Camry and a gray Hyundai Elantra – were involved in the altercation. Jaden Burton was identified as the driver of the Toyota, while Kamrun Goffe operated the Hyundai.

Further Developments in Ocala:

During the course of their investigation, authorities apprehended both Goffe and Burton. Subsequent questioning revealed that the incident stemmed from a drug deal involving marijuana, which tragically resulted in the loss of Patrick Stanley Jr.’s life.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the loved ones of Mr. Stanley Jr. during this challenging time,” expressed the police department.

As of now, Kamrun Goffe and Jaden Burton remain in custody at the Marion County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings. Arrest records indicate that they are being held without bond.
