Couple and Infant killed in Tragic SUV Accident in Jammu and Kashmir

In a devastating incident on Saturday, a couple and their three-month-old baby lost their lives when their SUV veered off the road and plunged into a 400-foot-deep gorge in the picturesque Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The local authorities confirmed the tragic accident, which also left one person critically injured.

The unfortunate incident occurred at approximately 12:45 pm when a Bolero Camper, en route from Tulli to Chassana, tragically fell into the gorge near the Zero Point. The impact of the fall resulted in the immediate death of three individuals, while one person sustained severe injuries, according to the Station House Officer of Chassana, Suman Singh.

The SUV was left in a mangled heap of twisted metal, making the rescue operation challenging for the responders. The bodies of the deceased had to be carefully recovered from the wreckage, further adding to the complexity of the situation, as stated by Singh.

The victims have been identified as Zahid Ahmad (27) and his wife Sayra Akhter (26) from Balmatkote village of Mahore, along with their three-month-old baby. The SHO mentioned that Irfan Ahmad, a resident of Deval village in Mahore, was the individual injured in the tragic accident. Irfan has been admitted to a nearby hospital, where his condition remains critical, added the SHO.
