EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) — The San Diego Sheriff’s Department is currently conducting an investigation into the shooting deaths of a married couple that occurred on Saturday in El Cajon, California.

The incident took place around 12:45 p.m. when authorities responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at a residence located in the 1600 block of Hilton Head Court. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered two victims, identified as 41-year-old Jose Benjamin Lopez Valle and his 38-year-old wife, Brenda Valle, both suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to a statement released by the sheriff’s office, a firearm was found near the victims, and it appears that Jose’s injury was self-inflicted. The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and the motive behind the tragic event.
