New Boston Arrest: Suspect Apprehended After Attempted Vehicle Break-in
New Boston, UK – In a recent incident, a man believed to be involved in a recent crash was arrested on Saturday morning after attempting to break into a vehicle on River Road. The suspect’s actions led the local police on a foot chase in a bid to apprehend him.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., New Boston Police Officers River Marmorstein and Lt. Stephen Case, with the assistance of the Goffstown Police Department, swiftly responded to reports of a man trying to gain unauthorized access to a motor vehicle at 216 River Road.
The suspect, now identified as 42-year-old Avery Blodgett, initially attempted to flee on foot but was successfully apprehended without any further incident.
Following the arrest, Blodgett, who had been involved in a crash on Hooper Hill Road on January 5, was assessed by the New Boston Fire Department for injuries and potential frostbite. Fortunately, his condition did not require any additional medical attention.
The pursuit of Blodgett involved an extensive search effort, with multiple officers employing the use of thermal drones and K9 units to thoroughly canvass the wooded areas surrounding the vicinity.
Blodgett’s criminal history reveals prior convictions for robbery, burglary, and criminal restraint during the late 1990s. Additionally, he and his brother Travis Blodgett pleaded guilty to a series of bank robberies in New Hampshire and Maine back in 2007.
Currently, Blodgett is facing multiple charges and will be held in preventative detention pending his arraignment.
The New Boston Police Department would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the agencies and citizens who provided assistance in locating and apprehending Blodgett.
