The matter came to light when Priyank Kanungo, the chairman of the National Commission for Protection Of Child Rights (NCPCR), made a surprise visit to the Aanchal Girls’ Hostel in the Parwalia area on the outskirts of Bhopal. During the visit, it was discovered that 26 girls were missing out of the 68 whose entries were recorded. What did the police say?

On Saturday, the police stated that a case had been registered in connection with the alleged disappearance of a girl from the children’s home.

Pramod Kumar Singh, the Bhopal district rural Superintendent of Police, confirmed that all the missing girls were safe and with their families.

On Thursday, the police filed a First Information Report (FIR) based on the complaint of district program officer Ramgopal Yadav against Anil Mathew for allegedly running the children’s home illegally.
