The Israeli military’s incursion into Jenin city from the Jenin-Nablus Street early Sunday morning sparked fierce protests from local resistance fighters. Military vehicles, including a bulldozer, invaded the city, leading to clashes with armed Palestinian resistance fighters.

Sharpshooters positioned themselves on rooftops of nearby homes and buildings, while reconnaissance drones patrolled the airspace. Bulldozers destroyed several streets in the Al-Jabriyat neighborhood, and soldiers fired smoke bombs in the area.

During the clashes, armed Palestinian resistance fighters engaged in heavy gunfire with the invading army. They also detonated a crude explosive device, causing damage to a military jeep.

Israeli media reported that four border police officers were injured, two of them seriously, as a result of the resistance’s actions. In response, an attack helicopter fired at a group of resistance fighters who were hurling explosive devices at the soldiers. The wounded soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment.

The situation in Jenin remains tense as the community reels from this tragedy. The international community must pay attention to these ongoing acts of violence and work towards a peaceful resolution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
