A tragic incident unfolded in Gul Housing Society, Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 7, as a woman lost her life and her daughter sustained injuries in a horrifying acid attack that occurred within their own residence.

The victim, identified as Tanveer Bano, aged 55, was immediately rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) by rescuers. However, she couldn’t survive the severity of the attack.

The survivor, Rabia, who managed to escape with injuries, shared the harrowing details of the incident. Rabia explained that she had been married to Shahid Alam in 2010 and they had two daughters together. Unfortunately, their relationship ended in divorce six months ago. Since then, Rabia had been living with her mother, while her daughters stayed with their father.

Rabia alleged that her ex-husband had been continuously threatening her, with the most recent threat occurring just days ago. Tragically, on Saturday, two unidentified men entered their residence and launched a vicious acid attack. Rabia bravely resisted the assailants, suffering injuries to her hand, while her mother valiantly attempted to fend off the attackers. However, she ultimately fell victim to the acid assault.

The acid attack left the victim with visible marks on her face and a wound on the back of her head, raising suspicions of a fatal head injury. The exact cause of death will be determined following the post-mortem report. In light of Rabia’s identification, the police have taken Shahid Alam, the ex-husband, into custody. He is currently being questioned to gather more information about the horrifying incident.

In a perplexing incident at a Defence arms shop located in Defence Phase V, Khada Market, an employee tragically lost his life due to a shooting incident. Initially, the incident was presumed to be accidental, as reported by SHO Darakhshan Kaleem Musa.

The unfortunate event took place when Zahid, a 56-year-old employee of the arms shop, accidentally discharged a shot while resting on a sofa inside the shop. There were no other individuals present in the shop at the time of the incident. After another person discovered Zahid’s lifeless body upon entering the shop later, the police were immediately notified. As authorities delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding this mysterious incident, questions arise about the deceased, who reportedly resided in Mehmoodabad.
