19-Year-Old Kerala Teenager Found Dead on Goa Beach

A 19-year-old teenager from Kerala, who had traveled to Goa to celebrate the New Year, was tragically discovered dead on a beach in North Goa on Thursday. The local authorities have registered a case of unnatural death and have initiated inquest proceedings.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Santosh, a resident of Kottayam district in Kerala. According to the police, Sanjay, along with two companions, had arrived in the beautiful coastal state of Goa on December 29 and checked into a guesthouse situated in the vibrant Vagator area. The trio had eagerly attended a New Year’s Eve party at a popular club in Vagator, the police confirmed.

“While his two friends returned to their rooms after the party, Sanjay could not be found. His friends reported him missing the following day,” stated a police officer familiar with the case.

After the incident was reported, a missing person complaint was lodged at Anjuna police station on January 1. Unfortunately, three days later, Sanjay’s lifeless body was discovered on Vagator beach, which falls under the jurisdiction of Pernem police station, in the early hours of Thursday. The police revealed that he was declared dead upon arrival at a local hospital.

Police sources have disclosed that the body exhibited “blunt force injuries” on the chest, indicating possible assault. However, further confirmation will be obtained after the post-mortem examination report is released.

“The autopsy has been conducted, and the body has been handed over to the family. The exact cause of death is yet to be determined, and a thorough investigation has been launched,” noted Nidhin Valsan, the Superintendent of Police in North Goa.

Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from various clubs in the area as part of their investigation. It has been reported that Sanjay was last spotted dancing on a stage at the party.
