On January 5, 2024, around 7:30 p.m., the Weatherford Police Department received multiple calls regarding a car accident on Interstate 20 at Main Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the lifeless body of a 44-year-old white male from Parker County. Another individual, identified as 43-year-old Nicholas Kent, was also present.
As the investigation unfolded, it was determined that a collision had occurred between the vehicles driven by Kent and the victim. Subsequently, a heated altercation ensued, resulting in the victim being shot. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Nicholas Kent was arrested and now faces charges of murder.
