Tunica County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Tragic Shooting Incident in Robinsonville, Mississippi

TUNICA, Miss. (WMC) – On the evening of Friday, January 5th, a distressing incident unfolded in Robinsonville, Mississippi, as the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting incident. The call was made by an individual who informed the authorities that a child had arrived at their neighbor’s residence, revealing that their mother had been shot inside their apartment located on Kirby Road.

Promptly, Sheriff Deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene, fully aware of the urgency and seriousness of the situation. Upon their arrival, they were confronted with the sound of additional gunshots emanating from inside the residence, heightening the tension and concern for the safety of those involved.

As the deputies approached the apartment, they discovered two additional children outside the premises, presumably traumatized by the distressing events unfolding before them. The law enforcement officials quickly gathered crucial information, learning that the apartment was occupied by a woman, her newborn child, and a man.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, the deputies took immediate action to secure the scene and ensure the safety of the surrounding residents. With utmost caution, they initiated communication with the male suspect, who was still inside the apartment, using a phone. Through their skilled negotiation, the deputies successfully persuaded the suspect to relinquish his weapon and exit the residence.

At approximately 10:35 p.m., the deputies successfully detained the male suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Donald Demario Patrick from Tunica, Mississippi. During the initial interaction, Patrick admitted to shooting the mother of his child and disclosed the presence of a newborn inside the apartment.

The suspect, Donald Demario Patrick, is currently in custody at the Tunica County Detention Center, awaiting formal charges. Meanwhile, upon entering the residence, the deputies discovered a black female victim with an apparent gunshot wound. Tragically, the victim was identified as 34-year-old Shaterica Queshun Bell from Robinsonville, Mississippi. Despite efforts to save her, Bell succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Tunica County Coroner.
