Further details have emerged regarding the victims of the shooting. Authorities have identified the 11-year-old student who tragically lost their life as Ahmir Jolliff, a sixth grader who was shot three times. The mother of another teenager shared on Facebook that her son was shot multiple times and was assisted to an ambulance for medical attention. Perry Superintendent Clark Wicks acknowledged the assistance provided by several individuals in ensuring the safety of others.

The Perry High School campus remains cordoned off with yellow crime tape, and small memorials consisting of flowers and stuffed toys have been left in remembrance of the victims. Superintendent Wicks announced that classes will not resume in the district until at least next Friday.

It was revealed that the number of wounded individuals was higher than initially reported.
