New Delhi – In a significant breakthrough, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has successfully arrested an active member and sharpshooter associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The apprehended gangster, identified as 18-year-old Pradeep Singh from Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand, was captured in the Rohini area of the national capital.

With the seizure of two semi-automatic pistols of .32 bore along with nine live cartridges, the police have managed to neutralize a potential threat to public safety. The investigation revealed that gangster Virender Partap, also known as Kala Rana, recruited Pradeep Singh through Instagram. Subsequently, Bhanu Rana connected him to the gang, and he was groomed to carry out criminal activities in Delhi and the National Capital Region.

Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) HGS Dhaliwal stated that specific intelligence was received regarding the movements of Pradeep Singh, an influential member and sharpshooter of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Sector 23, Rohini. Acting swiftly on this information, a dedicated team from the Special Cell deployed a strategic operation and successfully apprehended Pradeep Singh in Sector 23, Rohini. A criminal case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the law.

Who is Pradeep Singh?

Pradeep Singh hails from Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, where his father runs a grocery shop. At the age of 3, he was sent to live with relatives in Bikaner, Rajasthan, where he completed his studies up to Grade 8. Subsequently, he returned to his native village and continued his education until Grade 11.

In 2022, he decided to discontinue his studies and moved to Gurugram, Haryana, to live with a friend. It was during this time that he came across the Instagram profile of gangster Virender Pratap, also known as Kala Rana, and became fascinated by his criminal activities. In August 2023, Pradeep Singh began following Kala Rana on Instagram and expressed his desire to join the gang for fame. In September 2023, he started communicating with Bhanu Rana through the Signal App, following directions from Kala Rana.

Involvement in Targeted Crimes

According to police sources, on December 30 of last year, Bhanu Rana assigned Pradeep Singh to carry out a targeted crime in Delhi within the next 7-8 days, along with other associates. Bhanu Rana informed him that additional gang members would meet him in Delhi, with the details of the target to be shared later. Pradeep Singh received a consignment of weapons in Sector 24, Rohini. However, on January 3 of this year, he was apprehended by the police when he arrived in Rohini to meet the other members of the gang.

This successful operation by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell highlights their commitment to maintaining law and order in the national capital. By apprehending Pradeep Singh and seizing the weapons, they have effectively disrupted the criminal activities of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The arrest serves as a stern warning to other criminals involved in organized crime and sends a clear message that the Delhi Police will not tolerate any threat to public safety.
