The Culver City Police Department received a report of a sexual assault in the Blair Hills community of Culver City, located approximately 10 miles west of Los Angeles. The incident occurred on December 2, and police responded to the scene at around 7:46 a.m.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers interviewed the young victim and her parents. It was revealed that Maldonado had gained access to their home through an unlocked door. He then proceeded to sexually assault the 12-year-old before leaving on foot.

Investigations determined that the perpetrator entered the residence between 2 and 3 a.m. through an unlocked balcony door. He left the premises using the front door at around 7 a.m.

The victim’s parents shared that their daughter woke them up that morning and immediately urged them to call 911. They also disclosed that Maldonado had threatened the young girl, telling her that there was a shooter at her window and that she would be killed if she made any noise.

Soon after the incident, police began searching for witnesses and additional evidence. Surveillance footage was eventually recovered, showing Maldonado fleeing the area. Despite extensive efforts, authorities were unable to locate him at the time.

The Culver City Police Department, in collaboration with the UCLA Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, worked diligently to identify and locate the suspect.
