According to Forest Park Police, the incident unfolded on Friday morning at the ATC Income Tax office on West Street, where Harris was working. Victor Baymon, a 33-year-old man, entered the premises armed with a gun. It was later revealed that Baymon had followed his ex-girlfriend to the location.

While the ex-girlfriend escaped unharmed, Harris was tragically shot and succumbed to his injuries.

After the shooting, Baymon proceeded to carjack two individuals before ending up on Old Jonesboro Road. In a random act of violence, he shot another man who was in the process of fixing up his property.

Eddie Hall, a resident living a few doors down, expressed his shock and relief at not being present during the incident.

“Initially, I had no idea what was happening,” Hall recounted. He went on to express gratitude for not being in the line of fire, stating, “I could have easily been shot. It’s terrifying to think that someone could just walk up to you and open fire.”

Due to previous incidents of crime in the area, Hall had installed surveillance cameras on his property as a precautionary measure.

“I try to stay prepared so that we don’t have to go through something like this,” Hall added.

Baymon was eventually apprehended by the authorities in Powder Springs, hours after the incident. Following a police pursuit, he crashed into a tree, resulting in critical injuries. However, Baymon’s condition has since stabilized.
