Arrest Made in Lake Elsinore for Stealing Gravesite Flowers

A 45-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore has been apprehended by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department on suspicion of stealing flowers from gravesites, according to an announcement made on Friday.

In late December 2023, the Lake Elsinore Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) took over an investigation into the theft of gravestone flowers from the Elsinore Valley Cemetery located at 18170 Collier Avenue.

After thorough investigation, authorities identified Angela Riedel, a 45-year-old individual, as the primary suspect involved in the case. On January 4, Riedel was successfully apprehended in the vicinity of Central Avenue and Collier Avenue.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department revealed that Riedel has been booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on charges of vandalism and theft within the boundaries of a cemetery.
