Strongarm Robbery Reported in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara police recently responded to a reported strongarm robbery that took place on Friday night. The incident occurred around 7:05 p.m. at a business located in the vicinity of 1000 Coast Village Road.

According to the employee who reported the incident, they were assaulted during the robbery. Fortunately, the employee did not sustain any injuries.

Upon receiving the report, multiple police officers immediately rushed to the scene to commence an investigation. They began searching for the suspect, described as an adult male. The suspect’s physical appearance was promptly broadcasted via police radio.

Shortly after, officers spotted an individual matching the suspect’s description near the intersection of Coast Village Circle and Coast Village Rd. The suspect, a 28-year-old resident of Montecito, attempted to evade capture by hiding in an underground pathway.

With the assistance of a police K9 unit, officers successfully apprehended the suspect. It was not disclosed by the police department what type of weapon the suspect had used during the robbery.

The 28-year-old suspect was subsequently taken into custody and booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail. He is facing charges of robbery and resisting arrest.
