19-Year-Old Kingpin of Narco Syndicate Arrested in Delhi Drug Bust

NEW DELHI – A 19-year-old mastermind of a narcotics syndicate has been apprehended, along with four accomplices, for their involvement in drug distribution within the national capital and its outskirts, according to a police official on Friday. The syndicate’s operations extended from Delhi to Odisha.
The prime suspect, identified as Harsh Vardhan, hails from Gopalpur, Delhi. His associates, Ramesh Kumar Sharma, also known as Sonu (45) from Tilak Nagar, Amit Kumar Tiwari, also known as Jam (29) from Raghubir Nagar, and Arul Pandian (25) from Jal Vihar, Lajpat Nagar, were also arrested. The source of the cannabis supply was traced back to Bishwajeet Mahapatra, also known as DJ (23), residing in Nayagarh district, Odisha.
The Special Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), Ravindra Singh Yadav, disclosed that they received specific intelligence regarding a significant consignment of high-quality cannabis being transported by a member of the drug syndicate from Odisha to Delhi, in the area of Gandhi Vihar. Taking prompt action, the police set up a trap and successfully apprehended Vardhan along with a seizure of 22.786 kilograms of cannabis.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Vardhan had recently established a drug distribution network in the Delhi-NCR region, aiming to make quick money. Following Vardhan’s arrest, Mahapatra was also taken into custody, leading to the subsequent arrests of Sharma, Tiwari, and Pandian.
