Fire Breaks Out at Slum Cluster in Greater Noida, Leaving One Dead

NOIDA: In the early hours of Friday, a devastating fire engulfed a slum cluster in Greater Noida, resulting in the loss of three makeshift houses and tragically claiming the life of one person, as confirmed by local police officials. The incident occurred at around 12:15 am in a slum located in an open field in the Kasna area of Greater Noida. The fire is believed to have started due to a bonfire.

Upon receiving information about the fire, the Fire Service Unit promptly responded and quickly brought the situation under control within approximately 25 minutes, according to a police spokesperson.

The fire ravaged three makeshift houses, but thanks to the swift action taken by the firefighters, the blaze was prevented from spreading to the other remaining huts in the area, the spokesperson informed.

Tragically, one individual, identified as Munshar Ali (20), was found severely burnt and unconscious at the scene. The police provided immediate assistance and transported him to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Ali succumbed to his injuries.

The local Kasna police station is currently conducting further investigations and carrying out necessary legal proceedings in relation to the incident, the official added.
