Haryana Police Recovers Car Allegedly Used in Disposal of Divya Pahuja’s Body

The Haryana Police, currently investigating the murder of former model Divya Pahuja, who was shot dead in a hotel room in Gurugram, has made a significant breakthrough in the case. They have successfully recovered the BMW car believed to have been used by the prime accused, Abhijeet Singh, to dispose of Pahuja’s body. The car, registered under his friend Ajay Mehta’s name, was found abandoned at a bus stand in Patiala, Punjab.

The discovery of the car brings hope for the police, who are still searching for Pahuja’s missing body. CCTV footage from Hotel City Point, where the murder occurred on January 2, captured two men dragging the victim’s body through the lobby and loading it into the car. The BMW was then seen being driven towards Punjab.

Constable Karan Singh from the Crime Branch of Gurugram Police stated, “The car was spotted on camera near the toll, and we learned that it had moved towards Patiala. We were specifically looking for this car in connection with the murder of Divya Pahuja. We have confirmed its identity through the number plate and color. However, the body has not been recovered yet. It was displaced in this car after the murder.”

Reason Behind Divya Pahuja’s Murder

Divya Pahuja, a former model from Punjab, met a tragic end allegedly at the hands of Abhijeet Singh, the owner of the hotel where the murder took place. Singh was driven to commit the crime after Pahuja extorted money from him by blackmailing him with explicit pictures.

Authorities have made progress in the case, with the arrest of three individuals, including Singh, Hemraj, and Omprakash, by the Gurugram Crime Branch. However, the focus now remains on locating Pahuja’s body.

Police’s Failed Attempt to Find the Body

The police have shared details of their failed attempt to locate Pahuja’s body. She was staying in Room Number 111 of the hotel at the time of the murder. Singh reportedly spent around six hours with the body before seeking assistance from Om Prakash and Hemraj to dispose of it.

Anoop, an employee at the hotel reception, noticed something suspicious and alerted the police. Unfortunately, when the authorities conducted their initial search, they inspected Room Number 114, which was booked under the accused’s name. It was only after Pahuja’s sister, Naina, filed another complaint that the police discovered blood stains and personal belongings of Pahuja inside Room Number 111.

By then, the three arrested individuals had already moved the body to the trunk of Singh’s car. He then drove approximately 1.5 km and handed the car keys to his associates, Balraj and Ravi Banga, who departed for Punjab to dispose of the body.

Who Was Divya Pahuja?

Divya Pahuja, a former model, had a tumultuous past. She was the ex-girlfriend of Sandeep Gadoli, one of Gurugram’s most-wanted gangsters, who was killed by the police in a staged encounter at a Mumbai hotel in 2016.

Allegations emerged that the Haryana Police had colluded with rival gangster Virendra Kumar, also known as Binder Gujjar, and used Pahuja as a honey trap to lure Gadoli to the hotel in Mumbai, where he met his demise. Pahuja was reportedly paid Rs 2 crore for her involvement in the fake encounter, but she was arrested by the Mumbai police. After spending nearly seven years in jail, she was granted bail in June 2022.
