Five Arrested in LAPD’s Final Prostitution Sting Operation of 2023

In the last prostitution sting operation of 2023, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) arrested five individuals involved in commercial sex work. The operation targeted sex workers who used the internet to advertise their services for money. Undercover officers, posing as potential clients, organized a meetup at a motel in South Los Angeles and apprehended the individuals on prostitution charges.

The four women arrested have been identified as Jasmine Reed (26), Josalyn Greenwood (40), Elizabeth Vazquez (30), and Salena Contreras (29). They were charged with solicitation for the purpose of prostitution and were cited and released from custody, according to LAPD officials. Additionally, 28-year-old Curtis Robinson was also arrested during the sting, although his specific role was not disclosed. Robinson had multiple outstanding felony warrants and is currently being held without bail at the Men’s Central Jail in Chinatown.

All five individuals reside in Los Angeles, as confirmed by authorities. The LAPD Southeast Vice Unit, responsible for the sting operation, has collaborated with law enforcement agencies at the county, state, and federal levels to combat prostitution and human trafficking along the “Figueroa Corridor” in South Los Angeles.

Throughout 2023, the Southeast Area Vice Unit made a total of 367 arrests in the region and surrounding areas. Furthermore, they rescued 14 minors who were identified as victims of human trafficking.
