LUCENA CITY — A shocking incident occurred in Mulanay town in Quezon province as a man brutally hacked to death the father and brother of his former lover. The authorities are currently investigating the case.

The Quezon police reported on Friday, Dec. 5, that the suspect, known as “Efren,” appeared unexpectedly around 10 a.m. at the residence of Dominador Constantino, 67, in Barangay Sta. Rosa.

According to the investigators, the suspect borrowed a bolo from the elderly man, pretending that he needed it to harvest bananas and sell them as he claimed to have lost his money.

Based on the account of a young girl who was the only companion of Dominador, Efren attacked and killed the old man by hacking his neck with the borrowed bolo.

The investigators also discovered the lifeless body of Dominador’s 27-year-old son, Rodelio, who lived 200 meters away, with hacked wounds. Efren was identified as the perpetrator of this gruesome crime.

Major Marlon Comia, the Mulanay police chief, revealed that the suspect was a former live-in partner of Dominador’s daughter and had previously resided in the same house. However, a few months ago, the daughter abandoned Efren, who then left to work abroad. Upon his return to his hometown in Mauban, he repeatedly attempted to win her back but was consistently rejected.

Currently, the suspect is the subject of an intense manhunt conducted by the police.
