MORGAN’S POINT RESORT, Texas – In a dramatic turn of events, a woman with an outstanding warrant was apprehended and now faces multiple charges after leading police on a high-speed chase that spanned several cities on Thursday afternoon.

Fraud Incident Unfolds at Sol De Jalisco #4 Restaurant

It all began when officers from the esteemed Morgan’s Point Resort Police Department received a distress call regarding an ongoing fraud incident at the popular Sol De Jalisco #4 restaurant, situated at 1680 Morgan’s Point Road.

The suspect, identified as Cindy Gomez, a 33-year-old resident of Temple, Texas, was quickly recognized as the individual behind the fraudulent activity.

Deceptive Tactics Employed by the Suspect

Gomez cunningly posed as a representative of one of the restaurant’s trusted vendors, claiming that a recent delivery had been made without payment. To support her claim, she sent a fabricated invoice to the restaurant.

However, the staff at the restaurant grew suspicious of the circumstances and decided to alert the authorities.

A Fleeing Suspect and a Multi-Agency Pursuit

As a police officer from the Morgan’s Point Resort Police Department arrived at the scene, Gomez defied orders to halt and swiftly locked herself inside a 2016 Buick Verano.

With a clear intention to evade arrest, Gomez sped away from the restaurant, initiating a dangerous pursuit that involved multiple law enforcement agencies.

The pursuit unfolded through the streets of Morgan’s Point Resort, Temple, and Belton, with police officers from the Morgan’s Point Resort Police Department, Temple Police Department, Bell County Constables Office – Precinct 3, and Texas Department of Public Safety relentlessly chasing Gomez.

The End of the Chase

The intense chase finally came to a halt in the parking lot of the esteemed Bell County Justice Center in Belton.

With no other options, Gomez was apprehended and taken into custody by the authorities.

Charges and Outstanding Warrant

Following her arrest, Gomez was promptly booked into the Bell County Jail, facing a range of serious charges. These include Evading Arrest or Detention, Evading with a Vehicle, Criminal Attempt, and an outstanding Felony arrest warrant issued by the Bell County Sheriff’s Department.

The swift and coordinated efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies ensured the successful capture of Cindy Gomez, putting an end to her fraudulent activities and safeguarding the community from further harm.
