Two People, Including Brac Official, killed in Road Accidents in Feni

Two individuals, including a Brac official, tragically lost their lives in two separate road accidents that occurred in Feni this morning. The incidents have once again highlighted the pressing need for road safety measures in the country.

One of the victims has been identified as Yasin Ullah, a 38-year-old resident of Hatia upazila in Noakhali. Yasin worked as an officer in the credit section of Brac’s Sharshadi union office. According to reports, he was fatally struck by a bus while riding his motorcycle on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in the BSCIC industrial area of Sadar upazila. The accident occurred at around 9:00 am, and Yasin died on the spot due to the severity of the collision, as confirmed by Mostafa Kamal, Officer-in-charge of Mahipal Highway Police Station.

In another tragic incident that took place in Chhagalnaiya upazila, a 35-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on the same highway. The accident occurred around 3:00 am, and the victim’s identity has yet to be determined, according to OC Kamal.

Following the accidents, the bodies of the deceased were transferred to the morgue at Feni Sadar General Hospital for autopsy, providing authorities with an opportunity to investigate the incidents further.

It is crucial that road safety measures and awareness campaigns are intensified to address the alarming rate of road accidents in the country. The loss of lives and injuries caused by these accidents have devastating consequences for families and communities.
