Woman Charged with Assaulting Common-Law Husband in Los Fresnos

LOS FRESNOS, TX – In the early morning hours of December 25, 2023, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic assault incident at a residence in Los Fresnos. The victim, a 26-year-old man, reported that he had been assaulted by his common-law wife, identified as Briana Ruiz.

According to the victim, the altercation began when he refused to allow Ruiz to take their children. He further stated that Ruiz was intoxicated during the incident. The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and gathering evidence to determine the appropriate charges to be filed against Ruiz.
