Charges Filed Against Father

The boy’s father, Arkete Davis, 53, appeared in court on Wednesday and is now facing multiple charges, including criminal storage of a firearm, two counts of child endangerment, and felon in possession of a firearm. The Sacramento District Attorney’s Office stated that all criminal liability for the child’s death rests solely with Davis.

Illegal Possession and Stolen Firearm

According to previous reports by CNN, Davis was legally prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm. The gun that was recovered had been reported stolen in 2017, further complicating the case.

Release of the Young Boy

The 10-year-old boy, who was initially held at the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility, has since been released and reunited with his mother in Sacramento. This development comes after his grandmother informed CNN affiliate KCRA about the boy’s change in custody.

Identification of the Victim

The victim of the tragic shooting incident has been identified as Keith Frierson, a 10-year-old boy. Deputies discovered Frierson bleeding from his head and neck in a parking lot, responding to a distressing call of a shooting on a Saturday afternoon.
