Police Searching for Hit-and-Run Driver Who Fatally Struck Man in Prince George’s County
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — Authorities are on the lookout for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a man on New Year’s Day.
The incident occurred on January 1st around 8:45 p.m. when police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man on Landover Road and Neighbor Lane in Cheverly. The victim, identified as 50-year-old Marcial Gregorio Tom from Cheverly, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police department.
Initial investigations suggest that an unidentified vehicle traveling northbound on Landover Road struck Tom, resulting in his tragic death. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and remains at large. Law enforcement authorities are currently working to determine the make and model of the striking vehicle. Once this information becomes available, it will be released by the police department.
