After a tragic accident in Cleveland County, charges are expected to be filed against the driver who fled from law enforcement, resulting in the death of a passenger. The incident occurred when a suspect attempted to escape from the police in a stolen car. Cleveland County Sheriff Chris Amason revealed that the driver, identified as Trenton Davis, and the passenger, a 25-year-old individual, initially provided false names to the deputies before taking off.

During the pursuit, the deputies decided to discontinue the chase due to the dangerous conditions caused by high speeds and dust. However, moments later, the undersheriff arrived at the crash scene and described the wreckage as particularly gruesome. The car had crashed into a creek, splitting into three pieces.
Tragically, both the driver and the passenger were found outside the vehicle. The driver suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit, while the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Sheriff Amason expressed his sadness over the loss of such a young life and emphasized that the outcome could have been avoided had the individuals made better choices that night.
Sheriff Amason confirmed that charges are expected to be brought against the driver, and the investigation is ongoing. He expressed his determination to hold the driver accountable for his actions, emphasizing that fleeing from the police is unacceptable, and when it leads to a death, it becomes even more crucial to seek justice.
The medical examiner has identified the deceased passenger, but her name will not be released at this time. The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office is committed to ensuring a thorough investigation and pursuing appropriate charges against the driver.
