Tragic Car Crash in Dorchester Claims Lives of Two Teenagers

Two teenagers from Dorchester were among the four individuals involved in a devastating car accident on Morrisey Boulevard on Thursday, resulting in the tragic loss of two young lives, according to Massachusetts State Police.

Preliminary investigations conducted by state police revealed that the teenagers were driving at a high speed in a Hyundai Accent when the vehicle crashed on Morrissey Boulevard near UMass Boston. The incident occurred at 3:17 a.m. and was witnessed by a state trooper who promptly called for backup.

Identifying the Victims

State police have identified one of the deceased teenagers as a 14-year-old male from Dorchester. The second teenager’s identity remains tentative and unconfirmed. Meanwhile, another male teenager remains in critical condition at a Boston hospital. Fortunately, a fourth teenager, a 15-year-old male also from Dorchester, is expected to survive despite being hospitalized.

Stolen Vehicle and Recovered Evidence

The investigation has revealed that the Hyundai involved in the crash was reported stolen from Jamaica Plain on Thursday morning. State police discovered a firearm inside the vehicle, which was subsequently seized by the State Police Ballistics Unit. The car itself was towed by State Police for further examination and analysis.

Fatalities and the Aftermath

Tragically, one of the teenagers was pronounced dead at the crash site, while the other three were rushed to a hospital. Regrettably, a second teenager succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the medical facility. Pictures of the accident, shared on social media by witnesses, depict the overturned Hyundai.

Ongoing Investigation and Road Reopening

Authorities are currently conducting an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding this devastating car crash. However, Morrissey Boulevard reopened fully at approximately 7:30 a.m. after being partially closed for over four hours.
