Arrest Made in Shooting Death of Kenneth Cunningham II in Cobb County

Authorities have apprehended the individual believed to be responsible for the tragic shooting death of Kenneth Cunningham II outside an apartment building in Cobb County. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

The shooting took place at approximately 10:30 a.m. at Harlow Apartments located in the 2100 block of Cobb Parkway SE. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the lifeless body of 40-year-old Cunningham, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

This devastating incident initially gained attention through an article titled “Police ID man shot, killed outside Marietta apartment; shooter still at-large“. The report highlighted the urgency surrounding the search for the unidentified shooter.

A collective effort from multiple law enforcement agencies was launched in response to the shooting. Their combined efforts led to the identification of the suspect as 33-year-old Donovan Carter, a resident of Gwinnett County. The Marietta Police Department collaborated with their counterparts in Gwinnett to locate Carter, ultimately resulting in his arrest by the Gwinnett County Police Department on Wednesday night.

Donovan Carter has now been booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center and is currently facing several charges, including aggravated assault, murder during the commission of a felony, malice murder, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The legal proceedings against Carter will determine the appropriate course of justice for the heinous crime committed.
